Yusu Chen

Yusu is a PhD candidate in the Chemical and Biological Engineering department. He received his Bachelor of Science in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering from the University of California at Berkeley. His project focuses on the interdisciplinary integration of synthetic biology and materials science. Specifically, he works on enabling directed evolution of protein-based biomaterials through developing novel high-throughput material mechanical testing methods and high-throughput protein purification methods. When he is not in lab, Yusu enjoys hiking and playing esports.
