Julie is a PhD candidate in the Interdisciplinary Biological Sciences program. She received her Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from the University of California, Berkeley. Her research works to understand the regulatory system of the Salmonella Pathogenicity Island 1 Type III Secretion System to engineer it as a platform for heterologous protein production. When she is not working on her research, you can find Julie fighting “the man”.
